And once again, the internet because someone else's powertrip..

Well this sucks!
For the past few months I've been somewhat enjoying this free online game BiteFight, which basically puts you in the shoes of either a vampire or a werewolf and you have to work at a graveyard to gain money, or go on raids into town to gather money and blood/meat (depending on your race).
Then you can spend the money you've earned on stuff like armor and weapons or to make your hidout a bit better. Of course, it is also possible to spend real money on this game, getting more and better equipment and all that.
It's a simple text-based RPG which was fun. Up until a few days ago.

I was putting my character to work at the graveyard every day (you don't have to be on the computer all the time, you can just tell it to work for 8 hours, turn the comp off and go to work yourself. When you return to the site, you've got a message in your inbox telling you how much you've earned.) I was saving up for the next armor, which costs quite a bit, so I wasn't spending any of my hard-earned in-game money.
And this jerk comes by, most likely the first time at random, since you can have the site randomly find you someone of another race to fight and he gets a bunch of gold from me, because I lost the fight horribly (what do you want, he is level 13, I'm at 9)
He then decides I've got too much money for my own good and starts attacking me (if you know the character name of a player, you can seek them out for fights too) and not just once or twice more. No, try 5 to 10 times A DAY!
At first I didn't think too much of it. Until this went on for about a week and I was getting tired of seeing all my gold go to this one jerk.
So I sent him a message, politely asking him to go pick on someone else.
What do I get in return?
If you'd spend your money on your skills, I wouldn't pick on you (for a while) I mean, WTF are you doing with 10.000... friendly advice, buy skills
Now, I know he might have meant it nicely. No, that's not true. I want to make myself believe he meant it nicely.
I told him I don't need anyone to tell me how to play a free, online game and that I would appreciate it if he'd bugger off somewhere else.
As a reply, I once again got the 'friendly' advice to spend my money and he told me that if anyone gets him more than 1000 after a fight, he picks on them for a couple of days. Though he then said I should be safe from him for now.
So it's the way he plays the game.
I told him once again I don't need any advice from anyone and proceeded to thank him for ruining a nice little pass-time of mine. If I wanted to be bullied, I'd go back to highschool.

I am getting so tired of online games now. All they really seem to be is a powertrip for one person or the other, and for some reason I always end up on the bad side of the equasion.
It's like being bullied for your lunch money, only this time, it's online with a fictional character that is supposed to get you some release from the mean ass world that is the real one..
I don't think I'll be playing much BiteFight anymore. If all I'm able to do is get money that someone else will just take from me every day because he believes he can put it to better use, there's not much fun for me.
If this guy decides to give me the friendly advice again, I think I might snap to the unpolite and tell him to get his own life to control. (as a matter of fact, this guy is one of the people who spend actual money on this game. I'm not, I'd rather spend it on stuff that actually exists.

I guess I'm just against people being able to buy in-game stuff for online games. This is part of the reason I never started playing World of Warcraft. There are too many people who just buy their way to a high level and then start to pick on the ones who just try to actually get there by playing the game. *shrugs*

Anyway, I wanted to get this story off my chest. It's been bothering me for a while now.
Oh, maybe a LOLcat or Funny Graph will brighten the mood of this post.. Let me find one..

Hmm.. nope, that's not what I was looking for.. Though it does apply for this guy's case..

Lets try again

Ah, much better ^_^
Now, I must go and try to get a little more sleep before I got to work.

Man, that is really shitty. What a fucking jerk.

Yeah, I avoided forums, chat rooms and boards because of this type of stuff. I never played any RPG games, online or other, but had friends who did DnD, etc. They usually played with other friends and since it was face to face and everyone knew each other, this kind of thing wouldn't happen. Sorry the game was ruined for you, it sounded fun.

It seems jerks and bullies and rude ppl are EVERYWHERE, in real life and online. I got so sick of it, that's why I dropped myOtaku. Too much BS there. I just want to blog, talk about my day, post pics of my dog, house and my artwork. I don't want to deal with egos, power trips, politics, etc.

Anyway hun, hope you are feeling better and can find another game you like to play or maybe make some allies who will go kill this guy off and take all his money and powers. Muwahahahahahahaha.

Ahem. *shifty eyes*
